South Korean automakers' global car sale fell last month on weak global demand, industry data showed Tuesday.

Local carmakers, including Hyundai, Kia, GM Korea, Renault Samsung and Ssangyong, sold a total of 674,040 vehicles at home and abroad in November, down 4.7 percent from a year earlier.

The domestic car sale climbed 5.3 percent over the year to 149,391 units last month, while the overseas car shipment declined 8.1 percent to 524,649 vehicles in the month.

The number of vehicles, sold in the local market by the biggest automaker Hyundai Motor, picked up 10.9 percent over the year to 70,035 in November, but the company's overseas automotive sale reduced 7.2 percent to 306,669.

The No.2 carmaker Kia Motors, affiliated with Hyundai Motor, sold a total of 256,019 vehicles in November, up 2.0 percent from a year earlier. Kia's local and overseas vehicle sales all increased last month.

GM Korea's global car sale tumbled 45.6 percent over the year to 21,384 units in November, and Renault Samsung's car sale in the global market plunged 48.7 percent to 8,074 vehicles.

Global vehicle sale by Ssangyong Motor jumped 10.3 percent to 11,859 vehicles in the cited month.
