The fastener imports and exports of Jiaxing city fell 3.24% to US$ 489 million compared with the same period in 2011 due to the global economic slowdown. The exports declined 3.38% to US$ 475 million while imports rose 6.11% to US$13 million.

Jiaxing Fastener Exports Highlights:

♦ Europe, the US and Russia were the top three importers. Exports to EU, the US and Russia amounted to US$263 million, accounting for 55.34 percent of total Jiaxing fastener exports. Exports to the U.S. jumped 23.92% to US$118 million while exports to EU declined 19.19% to US$90 million. Exports to Russia decreased 18.16% to US$60million.

♦ Over half of the companies with the high export value saw exports down. The number of companies with an export value of over US$10 million in Jiaxing totaled 10, among which 6 companies saw differently decrease in exports. The largest decrease rate was 40.11%.

♦ Export volume fell while export price jumped. The total fastener export volume of Jiaixng decline 5.29% to 337,946 tons with value down 3.38% to US$475 million in the first half of 2012. The average export price increased to US$1406.3/tons from US$1382.2/tons in 2011.
