| Exhibition introduction

On June 23, 2011, Manufacturing Expo Thailand 2011 (Thailand’s largest manufacturing and supporting industries event) grandly opened at BITEC, Bangkok, Thailand.

The event is organized by Reed Tradex, one of the world’s leading events organizers. This time, China Fastener Info works with Reed again as the supporting media of Automotive Manufacturing Thailand (Booth# T28 Hall 103) after cooperation with M-Tech, National Manufacturing Week and METALEX Vietnam, and distributes the latest China Fastener Directory and invitation letters of the 6th Fastener Trade Show (November 11-12, 2011, Poly World Trade Expo Center, Guangzhou, China). In addition to Automotive Manufacturing Thailand, Manufacturing Expo Thailand includes another six shows: InterPlas Thailand 2011, InterMold Thailand 2011, Assembly Technology 2011, Industrial Component and Subcontracting 2011, Industrial Energy and Environment 2011, NEPCON Thailand 2011 and INDEE Bangkok 2011.

For Japan’s auto industrial chain has been heavily interrupted by earthquake, a large number of Japanese car manufacturers have transferred their industry to Thailand, which facilities a great opportunity for Thai local companies to accelerate development. Therefore, this exhibition is considered as a warming-up competition prepared for the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in 2015.

It should be noted that along with the rapid growth of Thailand’s automotive industry, auto parts makers must arm themselves with more, higher technology to handle the tighter production schedules to catch up with the soaring local consumption and exports. According to Mr. Vallop Tiasiri, the president of Thailand Automotive Institute, car production in Thailand this year is expected to jump a stunning 60 percent and Thailand will produce 1.6 million vehicles this year. And the vehicle production in Thailand is projected to exceed 2 million units by 2014 or 2015. Since Thailand is a key market in ASEAN, it is expected that its vehicle sales will reach 3 million units in the next few years. Under such a backdrop, the show successfully attracts more than 700 exhibitors from 30 countries with totally 1,500 leading brands.

It is learned that the majority of exhibitors are from Thailand and other Southeast Asian countries, such as Malaysia, Indonesia, etc., while some are from India, South Korea, Japan, China mainland, Taiwan, etc. Most of the visitors are from Thailand and the neighboring Malaysia and Indonesia. It should be highlighted that the attendance of Indian buyers is quite notable due to the concurrent shows NEPCON Thailand and INDEE Bangkok, which are specifically organized for Indian exhibitors.

CFI’s booth attracts a large number of buyers from well-known brands, such as Fact-Link, Mitsubishi, Kia, Toyota, Honda, Canon, etc. Most of them come from purchasing department of Japanese-owned companies in Thailand. They said that the auto component industry has been interrupted by earthquake and they hope to buy auto components from China. Since Japanese auto companies are especially strict on quality, a lot of Japanese buyers want to know more about quality Chinese suppliers through the platform of CFI.
